The Union Township School Corporation invites all residents to participate in an open forum community meeting to discuss facility development. Residents will be asked for insight and input into possible renovation and expansion of the school facilities. Professionals will be available to answer questions including architects from Barton-Coe-Vilamaa; construction managers from Envoy, Inc.; and school superintendent, John Hunter. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. March 5 in the Wheeler High School cafeteria, enter thru the east "grand" entrance. For more information, go to www.union.k12.in.us.
Finals schedule change
Finals for Wheeler High students will be held on Friday and Monday instead of Thursday and Friday due to the snow day. Students will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. Friday and Monday.
Grease ticket sales
Showtime for the musical Grease is right around the corner, March 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16. Tickets are on sale in the high schooloffice at a cost of $10 for adults $8 for students and senior citizens. Students who attend the March 14 performance will receive $1 off the ticket price if you show your student I.D.
Union Center Elementary
A PTO sponsored fun fair will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Today is the last day to
preorder tickets at a savings of 5 for $1. Tickets can be purchased the night of the fair at 1 for 25 cents each or 4 for $1. Preordered tickets can be picked up in the lobby the evening of the event.
Simatovich Elementary
A book fair will be held Monday through Friday.
Union Township Middle School
For those students still planning to order yearbooks this year, personalization and icons are no longer options. All yearbooks now cost $22.
Wheeler High
Stop by the field house Saturday morning to support the cheerleaders in their first GSSC cheer competition.
Baseball registration
Mark your calendar for the Union Township Little League baseball and t-ball registration event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. March 6 in the Wheeler High field house.
