Officials: Hobart senior brought pocket knife to school
TIMES STAFF REPORT
HOBART | A Hobart High School senior was suspended after he came to class with a pocket knife inside his pants pocket, school officials said.
The incident was reported to Hobart police Thursday morning.
Assistant Principal Denise Galovic said she spoke to the student after the incident was brought to her attention.
She said she removed the student from class and he handed over the pocket knife to her without incident.
"Any knife is considered a weapon when it is on school property," she said.
Galovic said the student was suspended per rules contained in the high school student handbook.
