LAKE COUNTY

Borman lane restricted 7 a.m. to noon today

The Interstate 80/94 Major Moves Preservation resurface construction project between Central Avenue and the Indiana Toll Road will have a few more lane restrictions until project completion next week.

The westbound lane of I-80/94 was restricted Wednesday night for about four hours, beginning at 9 p.m.

After that, the westbound lanes returned to their current two-lane configuration.

Then, from approximately 7 a.m. to noon today, eastbound I-80/94 will be restricted to two lanes while crews mill a rumble strip into the median shoulder.

Finally, all restrictions will be removed from the project and this section of I-80/94 will reopen to three lanes in each direction when the project is completed by the middle of next week.

Through successful partnership between the Indiana Department of Transportation and lead contractor Walsh & Kelly Inc., this Major Moves project will finish two weeks ahead of schedule.

The work schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather.
