CHICAGO HEIGHTS | Police said Wednesday night there are "persons of interest" in the shooting death of 17-year-old Omar Reynoso.
Reynoso died after being shot Tuesday afternoon at the 100 block of East 12th Street, which is near his home at the 1200 block of West End Avenue, said Chicago Heights police Detective Joe Bruni. Reynoso, who died one day shy of his 18th birthday, was found with a gunshot wound to his head about 4 p.m., Bruni said.
Bruni could not say if any suspects were in custody but said the investigation is ongoing.
The Cook County medical examiner's office could not confirm Reynoso death Wednesday, but said if there was anything to report it wouldn't be revealed until today.
