Program aimed at seniors living alone
CROWN POINT | The U.S. Census Bureau reports that more than 10 million U.S. senior citizens live alone. Of these, it is estimated that one-in-three will fall in their home this year.
To educate seniors and their caregivers on affordable safety products available, Franciscan Adult Day Services will host an informational session on the Guardian Medical Alert Pendant at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Franciscan Communities at St. Anthony Campus' Holy Family Hall, 203 Franciscan Drive.
Kendra Howard, an account executive with Guardian Medical Monitoring, will discuss the features of the pendant system, which allows seniors to access caregivers, family members or emergency services via a two-way communication system with a push of the button. Attendees will also learn how to customize their pendant to meet their specific care concerns.
Franciscan Adult Day Services is a senior enrichment center dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors through compassionate daytime support and person-centered programming.
