EAST CHICAGO | A 34-year-old Griffith man apparently jumped to his death from the Cline Avenue overpass Friday afternoon.
Lake County coroner's investigators were called to a state-owned right of way near Cline Avenue and the Riley Road exit at 1:38 p.m. They pronounced the man dead at 2:47 p.m.
Cause of death appears to be blunt-force trauma, and foul play is not suspected, a coroner's spokesman said. An autopsy is scheduled for today.
