HAMMOND | Centier Bank and the Hammond Housing Authority partnered for a financial literacy project, offering a workshop on budgeting and saving money.
The session took place last month in the authority's office, 1402 173rd St.
After the lecture, attendees were able to ask questions and then left with materials that covered what they had learned.
Plans are being made to schedule additional presentations.
A door prize drawing was held, and Avis Raybon was the winner of a $25 money tree from Centier.
Attendees also learned about the Northwest Indiana A$$et Building Campaign's upcoming Super Saturdays, where qualifying individuals can have their taxes prepared for free.
The next Volunteer Income Tax Assistance date is April 5 at Ivy Tech Community College, 410 E. Columbus Drive in East Chicago.
