A 26-year-old Harvey woman is among eight people arrested and charged with operating a credit card fraud ring in suburban Crestwood, the Illinois State Police said Tuesday.

Letitia Georgia, of the 100 block of 147th Street, is joined by codefendants from Chicago, Alsip and Calumet Park and accused of stealing credit card numbers while working for various retail businesses in the Chicago area. The eight people are charged with one count of felony theft and one count of felony wire fraud the Illinois State Police said in a news release.

The charges come after a two month investigation that began after members of the Illinois State Police Federal Credit Union and the Chicago Patrolmen's Credit Union learned of fraudulent purchases being made from their accounts, state police said. The fraudulent transactions affected 140 accounts and totaled more than $150,000.

Those arrested and charged include:

Brittany C. Williams, 21, of the 8900 block of South Justine in Chicago.

Kiyona P. Jackson, 21, of the 7900 block of South Escanaba in Chicago.

Sabrina D. Moore, 27, of the 9900 block of South Wentworth Avenue in Chicago.

Christopher J. McNack, 32, of the 11300 block of South Green in Chicago.

Donesha Brumfield, 31, of the 12400 block of South Harding in Alsip.

Shomone C. Kuykendoll, 29, of the 13000 block of South Spencer Court in Alsip.

Eric A. Muse, 21, of the 12700 block of South Bishop in Calumet Park.

State police were assisted in the investigation by the Illinois Attorney General's Office, the Chicago Police Department, the U. S. Secret Service and Wal-Mart's Corporate Security.
