About Christine: Born March 14, 1990. Daughter of William and Beverly Hromada, of Lansing. Sister to Lynette and Susan.
Granddaughter of William and April Hromada, of Dyer. Member of First Christian Reformed Church of South Holland.
Accomplishments: Christine Hromada is a 2008 graduate of Illiana Christian High School. She was ranked third in her class with a 4.28 grade-point average and completed Advanced Placement calculus and English along with honors physics and Spanish III senior year. Hromada was a member of National Honor Society and part of the math team. She played clarinet in the pep band and woodwind quintet and was part of the pit orchestra for school plays and musicals. She participated in a solo ensemble competition receiving a first-place ranking.
Hromada worked behind the scenes for the theater department and attended an eight-week physics program offered at Fermilab in Illinois. She also played tennis all four years earning two varsity athletic letters. A National Merit Finalist, she received a math and instrumental music departmental award. She plans to attend Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich., to major in mathematics. She is working at R.L. Millies and Associates in Munster.
Personal hero: "As a Christian, my hero is Jesus Christ. He came and died on the cross to save us who are so helpless and undeserving. He gives us our lives to do our best so I try and live my life to the fullest and do everything in his honor."
What I read: "I like reading a lot - science-fiction, mysteries and the classics."
What I do for fun: "I love hanging out and watching movies with friends, practicing my clarinet and reading."
People might be surprised to know: "I like vacating in the north woods of Wisconsin."
