Noll students earn honors for AP exams

Seven students at Bishop Noll Institute have earned AP Scholar Awards for exceptional achievements on AP exams.

The College Board's Advanced Placement Program provides motivated and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school and to earn college credit, Advanced Placement or both for successful performance on AP Exams.

About 18 percent of the 1.6 million students worldwide who took AP exams performed at a level to also earn an AP Scholar Award.

Thomas Clements, class of 2008, qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

Six students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with grades of 3 or higher. The Bishop Noll Institute AP Scholar Award recipients were Joshua Gaspar, Ellena Kruse, Darryl McGowan and Elizabeth Mikolajczyk, all of the class of 2008, and John Mullaney and Carlos Sahagun, both of the class of 2009. Mullaney and Sahagun have this year to complete additional college-level work and possibly earn a higher level AP Scholar Award.
