CROWN POINT | This Saturday's Farmers' Market will feature fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries from both Indiana and Michigan.

Held on South Main Street between Hack Court and Walnut, the city's weekly market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June through October, pending weather.

This season's vendors are selling fresh produce, organic herbs and produce, farm fresh certified eggs, Texas Dog treats, aromatic coffee, fresh Labriola bread, landscaping and garden materials, baked goods, Tastefully Simple, Bailey's Bees honey and homemade honey products, One Sister Inc. wellness food and homegrown sprouts, soy gourmet candles and other unique items.

The market became sanctioned a year ago as a Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) through the Indiana State Department of Health's WIC program, and is looking for WIC participating growers.

The nondiscriminatory program provides participants in the WIC program with checks to purchase locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables from participating farmers at local markets. Only fresh, local, and unprocessed fruits and vegetables are eligible for purchase in the program.

To request a vendor application or for more information, contact Jennifer Bzdil, special events director, at (219) 662-3290 or jbzdil@crownpoint.in.gov
