LIBERTY TOWNSHIP | A fiery crash at Ind. 49 and County Road 600 North on Friday morning sent at least three people to the hospital and temporarily shut down the southbound lanes of the highway.
The lanes were reopened as of 11:30 a.m.
It appeared a white Nissan Altima struck the side of a Chevrolet Corsica shortly before 10 a.m., said Ray Wesley, of the Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department.
The engine compartment of the Nissan burst into flames, but the occupants of the car were able to escape, he said.
