Slick roadways caused several Monday morning accidents after overnight temperatures dropped below freezing and left several stretches covered in black ice.

Will County authorities in Illinois reported that stretches of Dixie Highway between Beecher and Crete are glazed over with ice.

No major problems were reported along area expressways or the Indiana Toll Road, state police said.
