River Forest and Valparaiso University grad Patty Cisneros helped the U.S. women's paralympic basketball team to its second consecutive gold medal Monday.

The U.S. beat Germany 50-38 Monday morning in Beijing in front of 8,800 fans at the National Indoor Stadium.

Cisneros, the U.S. team captain, was shown celebrating with teammates on the court and waving an American flag to the playing of U2's "Beautiful Day" following the victory.

"This experience has been so incredible," Cisneros said in a news release. "It was a little more difficult this time because we had such a big target on our backs and we rose to the challenge."
