Stough Group plans to expand Lake Pointe Landings
LYNWOOD | The residents at Lake Pointe Landings might be getting some new neighbors.
The Stough Group, the development and real estate group that originally built Lake Pointe Landings, appeared before the Planning Commission on Monday night to request a zoning change and a planned unit development for empty property that borders the senior housing complex.
Stough's plans include developing 66 units within 12 buildings. Most of the units would be one-bedroom apartments for those age 62 and older. That age requirement would be the same as the rest of Lake Pointe.
Also in the plan is a senior citizen community center.
The Planning Commission approved the rezoning and the PUD. The next step is for Stough Group to present its plans to the Village Board for final approval. The request should be on the Village Board docket in the next two to three weeks.
In other action, the commission:
* Gave tentative approval to Yuteva Hughes-Lockwood for a special use home occupation permit. Hughes-Lockwood plans to operate a home day care center out of her residence at 2601 198th St. The commission conditioned approval on seeing proof of a DCFS license for Hughes-Lockwood to operate at the property.
* Tabled a request by Arnold DeJong for a special use permit to operate a storage, sales, and service business at 3245 Glenwood-Dyer Road. DeJong wants to store new and used RVs and trailers at the site.
