National College Funding Services offers $500 scholarships to high school students in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties preparing to attend college in the fall. At no cost, the society helps students and parents navigate the college planning process from how to apply to college, how to choose which to attend and how to pay for college. The service center at 7109 Colorado Ave. in Hammond is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Two telephone lines are available: (219) 844-3252 and 803-4527. CAMPAGNA SIGNUPS | Schererville
Campagna Academy Charter High School is accepting applications for ninth- through 12th-graders. Applications must be submitted by May 15 to be considered for the lottery drawing for spaces in the school. The school is a fully licensed, fully accredited Indiana public high school that offers a Core 40 diploma. All Indiana high school students can apply. Barb Huber is the principal.

CITIZENSHIP TEST | Hammond
International Community Alliance conducts U.S. citizenship test preparation classes from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, May 27 to June 17, at the Hammond Public Library, 564 State St. Register.

INTERNET CLASS | Highland
A computer class on navigating the Internet is at 2 p.m. May 15, 6:30 p.m. May 20 and 2 p.m. May 21 at the Lake County Public Library's Highland branch, 2841 Jewett St. Participants will learn how to find information on the Internet through popular search engines, as well as through the library's Web site. PAPER DRIVE | Schererville
Fourth-graders, known as the Green Team, have started a paper drive. All week, students and parents will collect newspapers, papers and magazines and deposit them Friday mornings in a container in the side parking lot of the school, 7300 Forest Ridge Drive. A percentage of money earned will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Every three months, the team will select a new charity. The goal is to raise enough money to buy benches made of recycled material for the playground. The public may participate.

PAMPERED LADIES | Griffith
Pampered Ladies Night, a fundraiser for St. Mary School, will be held 4 to 7 p.m. May 15 at St. Mary Hildebrandt Hall, 525 N. Lafayette St. A selection of well-known vendors will be featured such as Arbonne, Silpada Designs, Tastefully Simple, Lia Sophia, Shaklee, and Tupperware. Most vendors will have cash and carry items and will accept cash, credit or checks. Raffles and prizes from all vendors will be available.

Deaf Services will sponsor beginning sign language classes. Sessions are set for 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 20 through June 12. The cost is $75.

JOB FAIR | Schererville
Campagna Academy will host a job fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 23 in the gym, Cline Ave. The human resources department will look for applicants for positions in social work, nursing, recreation, youth care services, behavioral health, teaching, administration and nutrition. This is a campuswide job search that includes positions in the new building opening soon. Attendees should bring copies of their resume. Door prizes and goody bags will be available.

MARKET DAY | Highland
Market Day orders are taken monthly throughout the year at Our Lady of Grace School, 3025 Highway Ave. Food items include breakfasts, snacks, dessert and poultry. Items are packaged in bulk with some individually wrapped. Orders can be place through the church or school or online. Volunteers act as cashiers, order fillers, baggers and carryout. All proceeds go to the school.
