LANSING | The Chamber of Commerce recently announced the winners for the 40th annual Lansing Chamber Good Neighbor Parade, which took place May 5. The parade, including 122 entries, was judged by local high school students and all winners will receive awards at the Chamber Awards Breakfast.
Superior Stone won the Lansing Chamber Award for its float. Ridge Animal Clinic won the Judges' Award and Cycle Sports received special recognition from the parade committee.
In the professional floats category, Great Lakes Bank placed first and McDonald's placed second.
For decorated vehicles, the first-place winner was Oak Glen School, second-place winner was Buford Walker Senior Home and in third place was Ted's Feed Store.
LARC, with 1st National Bank, won first place for amateur floats - Hammond Tech Tigers won second place and Imagine Salon & Day Spa won third.
Of the other entries, 1st Savings Bank of Hegewisch won first, Subway won second and Teri's Tea Rose Florist won third.
Among antique, classic cars and street rods, Orak Shriners won first, Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home won second, and Lan-Oak Park Foundation placed third.
In the professional marching group category, Lansing Fire Department Color Guard won first, Veteran's Memorial Honor Guard won second and Fashionette/Calumet Clowns placed third.
