HOBART — Police on Tuesday released surveillance photos in hopes of identifying a man suspected of robbing a fast-food restaurant last weekend.

The man entered the White Castle at U.S. 6 and Ind. 51 about 3:15 a.m. Saturday, displayed a silver handgun and demanded money from the register, police Lt. James Gonzales said.

The clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of money, and he fled in a northwest direction from the restaurant.

The man was described as 18 to 20 years old and 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, with a slender build, black hoodie, dark-colored jean pants, some type of red clothing under his sweatshirt and white gym shoes. He held the handgun in his right hand, police said.

Anyone with information about the man's identity is asked to call Detective Scott Shaginaw at 219-942-4654 or email sshaginaw@cityofhobart.org.
