CROWN POINT — A trial date was affirmed Thursday for two siblings charged with murder in the shooting death of a Gary woman in November 2015.

Marcellus Robinson, 23, and Tyiana Robinson, 20, are each charged in Lake Criminal Court with murder, five counts of attempted murder, felony battery and four counts of attempted battery.

The defendants are accused of fatally shooting Mynisha S. Brown on Nov. 29, 2015, while she was sitting in a vehicle near 19th Avenue and Kentucky Street in Gary. Brown, 24, was allegedly shot during a dispute between her sister and the Robinsons' sister over the man who fathered both their children.

The defendants appeared Thursday before Judge Diane Boswell with defense attorney Scott King, who is representing both the brother and sister.

Boswell approved a motion by the defense to hold a single trial for both defendants. She affirmed a trial date of Feb. 12 and a pretrial conference Jan. 10.
