A Tinley Park woman whose car reportedly was found Wednesday morning in the Kankakee River near Schneider is doing fine, a spokesman for the Lake County Sheriff's Department said Thursday.

Officers responded Wednesday morning to an area near State Line Road and the Kankakee River where they observed the top of a vehicle in the water, department spokesman Emiliano Perez said in an email.

The Lake Township Fire Department was notified and dispatched a dive team, he said.

After searching the vehicle and finding it empty, they also searched unsuccessfully with sonar for possible victims, Perez said.

The vehicle was registered to a woman from Tinley Park, Perez said. Tinley Park police conducted a welfare check on the woman, and she was found to be fine.
