CROWN POINT — A 23-year-old Gary man is wanted by police on allegations he sexually assaulted a woman after a dice game at a Gary home.

Bobby L. Quinn Jr. was charged Wednesday in Lake Criminal Court with two counts of rape, attempted rape, three counts of criminal confinement, two counts of sexual battery and three counts of battery.

The woman told police she was with friends at about 4 a.m. Dec. 8 at a home in 3300 block of Wheatley Terrace in Gary, according to a probable cause affidavit.

She said she was in the kitchen after a dice game ended when Quinn, who had been drinking and using drugs, grabbed her in a “bear hug” and put a gun to her head, the affidavit states.

The woman said Quinn violently penetrated her with his hands for several minutes before she was able to break his grasp and run from the home, according to the affidavit.

The woman called police at her home and went to the hospital, the affidavit states.

She said Quinn sent her threatening text messages after the assault, the affidavit states.

Quinn is already charged in Lake Criminal Court with possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, a level 6 felony, as well as several misdemeanors. He posted a $1,000 cash bond in that case March 30.

Quinn remained wanted on a warrant Thursday, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

He is not afforded bond on the new charges, court records state.
