Officials seek tips about suspect in Metro Center break-in

Officials said this man is suspected of breaking in to offices at the Adam Benjamin Jr. Metro Center on Sept. 26. Anyone with information about the man's identity is asked to call Gary police Detective Sgt. Mario Gonzalez at 219-881-4743.

GARY — Officials released a surveillance photo in hopes of identifying a man suspected of breaking in to offices at the Adam Benjamin Jr. Metro Center last month.

The man was seen hopping a gate to the Gary Public Transportation Corp.'s third-floor officers between 3 and 4 a.m. Sept. 26 and forcing his way into the GPTC's finance suite, officials said.

The man was described as black, 5 foot 8 and in his 20s or 30s.
