CROWN POINT — A 17-year-old boy is accused of raping a male teenager last year at a home in Hobart.

Joshua L. Holtz-Debold was charged Wednesday in Lake Criminal Court with rape, a level 3 felony. Holtz-Debold is charged as an adult for the offense. 

The male, also 17, told police Holtz-Debold raped him Sept. 28, 2016, while they were wrestling in a bedroom, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The teen said it had happened on multiple occasions while adults weren't home, the affidavit states.

Holtz-Debold is currently incarcerated at a juvenile facility in Pierceton, Indiana, according to court records.

The courts have issued a detainer ordering he be transported to Lake County, records state. His surety bond is $30,000.
