SCHERERVILLE — Police on Tuesday asked the community to help end the party for two people accused of stealing numerous bottles of tequila from several Northwest Indiana and Illinois liquor stores.

In Schererville, a woman entered Pine Island Liquor Store on Feb. 20, took multiple bottles of Patron and left, police Cmdr. Jeff Cook said.

On March 2, the same woman entered the Schererville store with a man.

The pair are accused of stealing several bottles of Avion and Patron tequilas and leaving in a gray four-door Nissan vehicle. The vehicle's model and license plate number weren't known, Cook said.

In one of the cases outside Schererville, a store employee took the woman's picture during the attempted theft and she fled, Cook said.

The woman was described as white, in her mid to late 30s and tall with a thin build and red hair.

The man was described as white and in his late 30s or early 40s, with a thin build and dark hair. He was wearing a blue Oklahoma City Thunder NBA hat.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspects is asked to call Schererville detectives at 219-322-5000.
