LAKE VILLAGE — A driver has been hospitalized following a Saturday morning crash in which two vehicles rolled as a result of the impact.

Michael Johnson, 64, of Schneider, had to be extricated from his 1997 Ford Ranger pickup truck, according to the Newton County sheriff's office. He was taken to Riverside Hospital. His condition is unknown.

Police said Johnson was westbound on Newton County Road 950 North just after 9 a.m. when Samuel Wilson, 18, of DeMotte, failed to stop at the stop sign and struck Johnson's truck. Wilson was driving a 2017 Toyota 86B sports car.

Wilson was cited for disregarding a stop sign, police said.
