A semtrailer driver was arrested on drunken driving charges Wednesday after a trooper stopped him on the Indiana Toll Road in LaPorte County for speeding and following too closely, police said.
Oleksandr Adamsky, 38, of Chicago, was stopped about nine miles east of the LaPorte exit and appeared impaired while speaking with a trooper, according to Indiana State Police.
Adamsky had a blood alcohol content of about 1.5 times 0.08, the legal limit for driving, police said.
He was taken to the LaPorte County Jail on charges of operating while intoxicated.
State police said everyone is encouraged to call 911 about possibly impaired drivers and be prepared to give a location, direction of trail and vehicle description.
