Six region attorneys selected for class in leadership training
INDIANAPOLIS | Six Northwest Indiana attorneys have been selected for the inaugural class of the Indiana State Bar Association's Leadership Development Academy.
The statewide program will develop the leadership skills of lawyers who have practiced for less than 15 years and train them for roles in local and state bar associations and community groups.
The 25 participants will attend five sessions featuring training in leadership principles and techniques, the importance of effective leaders and the challenges and rewards of leadership.
"Each of these lawyers will affect not only their colleagues and clients, but their surrounding communities as well," said C. Erik Chickedantz, president of the state bar association. "We anticipate seeing a significant ripple effect of what this program can do as these graduates go back into their communities with a unique set of skills."
The region members of the 2012 Leadership Development Academy, their hometown and law firm are: Richard W. Castleton, Merrillville, Burke Costanza & Carberry; Jennifer Irons, Crown Point, Sendak & Stamper; Shontrai D. Irving, Gary, State Farm litigation counsel; Michael J.
