CROWN POINT | Candidate filings continued Wednesday with two men declaring themselves in the sheriff's race.

Republican Ronald "Ron" Cooper and Democrat John Costello asked to have their names put on the May 2 primary ballot in a bid to be sheriff.

St. John Township Trustee Jean E. Shepherd and St. John Township Assessor Hank Adams are running for re-election in the Republican primary.

Democrat Kyle W. Allen Sr. is running for Calumet Township trustee, and Republican Donald Dust is running for the Hanover Township Board.
