LENTEN FISH | Merrillville

St. Andrew Church is holding its annual Lenten fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. on Fridays during Lent, Feb. 8 to March 14, at 801 W. 73rd Ave. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children. Menu includes baked or fried fish with potato or fries, bread, coffee or punch, ice cream and a bake sale.

FISH SEASON | Calumet City

Calumet Memorial Post 330 of the American Legion invites the public to its annual fish fry season. Doors open at 4 p.m. with food served until 7 p.m. Fridays through March 21 at the post, 950 Legion Drive. They will serve cod, lake perch, shrimp and combo dinners. Meals include French fries, cole slaw, roll, dessert and coffee.

St. John Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 717 and its ladies auxiliary and its mens auxiliary host fish fries from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Friday through Lent - Feb. 1 through March 21 - at the post, 10400 W. 93rd Ave. Dinners cost $8 for perch and $9 for shrimp, crab cakes or a combination of perch and shrimp. All dinners include fries, cole slaw or cottage cheese, bread and coffee or tea. Dessert will be available. Carryouts are offered for $1 more.

Knights of Columbus Msgr. Timothy F. Doody Council 9696 will co-host a fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 1 at the St. Edward School gym, 210 S. Nichols St. Menu includes a healthy serving of fish, French fries or boiled potatoes, cole slaw or applesauce, bread, beverage and choice of dessert. Cost is $9 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12 and free for younger children. Proceeds will benefit Savior of the World Orphanage in Sierra Leone. Lenten fish fries will be co-hosted by the K of C weekly at several locations; menu and cost may vary slightly depending on co-host. Schedule includes St. Edward School gym in Lowell on Feb. 8 and 22 and March 7 and 14, St. Matthias Parish Hall in Crown Point on Feb. 15 and St. Mary School in Crown Point on Feb. 29.

FISH DINNERS | East Chicago

Fish frys will be offered from 4 to 7 p.m. every Friday in Lent (except Good Friday) at 4930 Indianapolis Blvd. The cost is $8.50 for baked fish, shrimp or a fish/shrimp combo, $7.50 for ocean perch; dinners include salad bar. Soup and salad bar is $6.50, with children's fish or nuggets $4 and fries $1.

The Hammond Mohawks host Lenten fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays starting Feb. 8 at 4040 Calumet Ave. All-you-can-eat fish, fries, mac and cheese, salad, coleslaw, bread, dessert and coffee costs $8.00 for adults and $4 for children 11 and younger. Fried shrimp dinners are available for $9.

The Westville Sons of the American Legion will host an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 8 at the post,107 N. Flynn Road. They will serve perch, cod, chicken strips, fries, coleslaw, rolls, milk and coffee.

FISH FRY | East Chicago

St. Patrick Church offers fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays, Feb. 15 to March 14, at 3810 Grand Blvd. Enter the hall from the parking lot. Dinners include fries and a salad bar. Cost is $8 for perch and tilapia, $9 for catfish, $10 for shrimp or a combo dinner, $7 for salad bar, $1 for water and 50 cents for desserts. Carryouts are available. A 50-50 raffle also is planned each night.

St. Mary Home and School Association sponsors its Lenten home-cooked fish dinners from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays in Lent, Feb. 8 through March 14, at St. Mary-Hildebrandt Hall, 525 N. Lafayette St. St. Mary volunteers prepare the beer-battered fish dinners, which cost $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens 60 and older and $5 for children. Shrimp, frog leg and combo dinners are available for $10. The dinners include fries or baked potato, homemade coleslaw, bread, homemade desserts, coffee, milk or tea. Children 12 and and younger have a choice of fish, pizza or chicken nuggets. Beer, wine and pop are available. Dine in or carry out. Proceeds benefit students at the school. WEEKLY DINNERS | Merrillville

A weekly fish fry begins at 3 p.m. Fridays at St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church Hall, 8700 Taft St. Dinners include ocean perch and cod for $7.50 and lake perch for $13.95, along with pirohi and other items. All dinners include homemade bean soup, cole slaw and choice of fries, mashed potatoes or rice. Full bar service is available. Dine in or carry out.

Ridge United Methodist Church will host Friday night fish frys from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8 and 22 and March 14 in the fellowship hall, 8607 Columbia Ave. The suppers offer a time for fellowship and community over a supper of perch, baked potatoes, macaroni and cheese, cole slaw and desserts. Meals for children are available. Tickets cost $8 for adults, and $4 for children 10 and younger. Tickets may be bought at the door or in advance.
