INDIANAPOLIS | Hoosiers visiting Gov. Mike Pence's office will now see a familiar face — Mitch Daniels.

On Friday, the former governor's official portrait was hung above the security desk in the governor's reception room, the area where visitors are greeted just steps from Pence's private office.

The 42-by-32-inch portrait, painted by Lafayette native Richard Halstead, depicts the two-term Republican standing in his Statehouse office wearing a blue shirt and paisley tie. His left arm is resting on top of a yellow wing chair and he's holding a pen in his right hand.

Daniels began working as Purdue University president Jan. 14, the day Pence was sworn-in.
