INDIANAPOLIS | Former U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., will campaign with Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Joe Donnelly Thursday afternoon in Whiting.
The time and location of the Bayh-Donnelly stop in Whiting is set to be announced Tuesday. The men are visiting five Indiana cities Wednesday and Thursday on a Main Street Tour of Hoosier businesses to talk about creating jobs and balancing the federal budget.
Bayh represented Indiana for two terms in the U.S. Senate after serving as governor and secretary of state. He did not seek re-election in 2010.
Donnelly said if he's elected to the Senate he will follow Bayh's example of "bipartisan, common-sense leadership."
"There is a clear choice in the race to be Indiana’s next senator. Richard Mourdock promises more politics of division. I promise to work with anyone and everyone to get things done for middle-class families," Donnelly said. "I am proud to have Sen. Bayh with me this week to talk about this choice."
