LAKE STATION | The combined Lake Station, New Chicago and Hobart Township Democratic precinct organization endorsed the re-election of most incumbent officials in next month's primary.

The caucus held a candidates' night last week and agreed to support: U.S. Rep. Peter Visclosky, state Rep. Charlie Brown, Prosecutor Bernard Carter, County Clerk Mike Brown, John Petalas for county auditor, Peggy Katona for county treasurer, Sheriff John Buncich, Jerome Prince for county assessor, Commissioner Roosevelt Allen, Jamal Washington for County Council District 3 and County Councilman Ted Bilski in District 6.

They also endorsed Randall Guernsey for Hobart Township assessor, Hobart Township Trustee Tom Silich and Mitchell King, David Scheeringa and Mike Hannigan for the Hobart Township Board of advisers.
