LOWELL | It appears incumbent Michelle Dumbsky held on Tuesday to retain her West Creek Township seat on the Tri-Creek School Corp. board against challenger Lon Childress, a former board member.
Dumbsky said she campaigned hard because she wanted voters to know how important continuing the work already begun is to her.
"I hope this means the people in our district know just how hard this board is working for them," Dumbsky said. "We truly do have the kids' best interests in mind."
The current School Board has embarked on ambitious technology initiatives that are changing how education is delivered to Tri-Creek students. Dumbsky said it means the entire culture of the school system will be changed.
Dumbsky has two children in Lowell High. She said she is most appreciative of people who worked the polls on her behalf.
Childress, who served three years as board president during his two terms, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
