INDIANAPOLIS | New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is set to visit Northwest Indiana next week for a public rally and private fundraiser supporting Republican Richard Mourdock's U.S. Senate campaign.
Details are still being finalized, but Christie is tentatively scheduled to appear Oct. 17 alongside Mourdock at an evening rally in Merrillville, according to Brose McVey, Mourdock's deputy campaign manager.
The Republican New Jersey governor also is expected to speak earlier that day at a region fundraiser for Mourdock, McVey said.
Mourdock and Democratic Congressman Joe Donnelly are vying to succeed Republican Dick Lugar in the U.S. Senate.
