INDIANAPOLIS | Gov. Mike Pence will give his first State of the State address to a joint session of the Indiana General Assembly at 6 p.m. region time Tuesday.
The Republican governor is expected to tout his plan to reduce the state's income tax rate by 10 percent.
Skeptical Republican legislative leaders have said Indiana can't afford the tax cut and its two-year price tag of $750 million in lost revenue.
Pence also will tell lawmakers during his 30-minute speech what other legislation he wants them to send to his desk.
The speech will be broadcast live on Lakeshore Public Television and Radio (89.1 FM) and webcast at in.gov/gov/2013stateofstate.htm.
