INDIANAPOLIS | Gov. Mike Pence appointed Paul Joyce director of the State Board of Accounts, the agency that audits the state and local governments for missing money and other recordkeeping errors.
Joyce's promotion to state examiner caps a career spent at the agency.
He's served as deputy state examiner since 2006 and previously worked 15 years as a field examiner, overseeing more than 100 audits.
"This record of principled leadership, coupled with his decades of experience serving within the State Board of Accounts, will serve Paul well as he leads efforts within the agency to ensure transparency and accountability for Hoosiers," Pence said.
