INDIANAPOLIS | Gov. Mike Pence will soon sign into law one of the top items on his legislative wish list.
The House on Monday voted 94-0 for Senate Bill 465, sending Pence the Senate-approved measure establishing regional Indiana Works Councils where local businesses and high schools will jointly develop a career curriculum program.
"The passage of this legislation with unanimous and bipartisan support demonstrates the commitment of the people of our state to make career and vocational education a priority in every high school in Indiana again,” Pence said.
The proposal was co-sponsored by state Rep. Vernon Smith, D-Gary.
