U.S. Rep. Pete Visclosky, D-Merrillville, will participate this weekend in 11 town hall-style meetings at venues throughout Northwest Indiana.

Residents of the 1st District, which includes all of Lake and Porter counties and western LaPorte County, are invited to learn what their representative in Congress has been doing on their behalf.

Friday: 10 a.m., East Chicago City Hall, 4525 Indianapolis Blvd.; noon, Purdue University Northwest Student Union Library Building, 2200 169th St., Hammond; 2 p.m. Dyer-Schererville Library, 1001 W. Lincoln Highway, Schererville; 4 p.m., Crown Point Civic Center, 101 S. East St.; and 6 p.m. Hobart City Hall, 414 Main St.

Saturday: Noon, Woodland Park, 2100 Willowcreek Road, Portage; 2 p.m., Valparaiso Public Library, 103 Jefferson St.; 4 p.m., Chesterton Town Hall, 726 Broadway; 6 p.m., Michigan City City Hall, 100 E. Michigan Blvd.

Sunday: 2 p.m., Wicker Park Social Center, 2215 Ridge Road, Highland; 4 p.m., Gary Public Safety Facility, 555 Polk St.
