State lawmakers representing central and southern Lake and Porter counties are hosting a town hall meeting Saturday in Crown Point.

State Rep. Julie Olthoff, R-Crown Point, and state Sen. Rick Niemeyer, R-Lowell, plan to talk about the work of the Indiana General Assembly through the midpoint of the annual legislative session, and solicit feedback from their constituents.

"I always like to hear input and ideas from members of our community," Olthoff said. "Town halls are a great forum for community members to have their voice heard, as well as for us as legislators to update Hoosiers on what is moving forward at the Statehouse."

The free, one-hour event is set for 9 a.m. at the Crown Point Community Library, 122 N. Main St.
