LAKE STATION | Rebuilding Together, a nonprofit group that helps needy families improve their living conditions, is accepting donations to pay for an elevator-style lift for Sammy Fuller.
Fuller, 29, was born blind, deaf and partially paralyzed. He lives with his sister and her family in their father's Lake Station bilevel home and has to be carried up two flights of stairs to take a bath and spend time with his family.
His family's plight was featured in a story that appeared Monday in The Times.
Tom Ledyard, president of Rebuilding Together for the Hobart and Lake Station area, said donations may be sent to his organization at 414 Main St. in Hobart, with Sammy Fuller's name indicated on the memo line. All donations will go toward the lift and other home improvements that will help Fuller and his caretakers.
