PET VACCINATION CLINIC | Glenwood

The South Suburban Humane Society, 18349 S. Halsted St., is offering a vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to noon March 20. No appointment is necessary. The clinic will offer canine and feline distemper vaccines for $10 or $15; kennel cough vaccines for $10 or $15; one-year rabies vaccines for $15 or $20; microchips for $15 and nail trims for $10.

BREAKFAST FUNDRAISER | South Holland

The youth group at Peace Reformed Church, 833 E. 168th St., hosts a breakfast fundraiser from 8 to 11:30 a.m. March 20. Menu includes pancakes, sausage and more. Donations taken at the door. The money raised will go to offset the costs of buying food for the group's monthly breakfast it serves to about 70 homeless people in Chicago's Roseland community for this school year. Students will prepare and serve the same breakfast they cook each month in Roseland.

BOOK REVIEW | Park Forest

The Illiana Jewish Genealogical Society meets at 1:30 p.m. March 21 in the library at Congregation Am Echad, 160 Westwood Drive. HISTORICAL SOCIETY MEETS | Lansing

The Lansing Historical Society's March program will feature speaker Jeffrey Bockman on "A Gift That Money Can't Buy." It takes place at 6 p.m., March 22 at the Lansing Public Library, 2750 Indiana Ave. Bockman is a lecturer and writer on genealogy and has served as president of the DuPage County Genealogical Society. He is the author of "Give Your Family A Gift That Money Can't Buy: Record and Preserve Your Family's History."

The event is free and open to the public. It is made possible in part by an award from the Illinois Humanities Council, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Illinois General Assembly.

COLUMBIAN LADIES MEET | Lansing

CRIMINAL JUSTICE CAREER FAIR | University Park

The Office of Career Services at Governors State University is sponsoring a career fair featuring employers in the field of criminal justice. Current students, alumni, and community members interested in finding employment in law enforcement, the criminal justice system, and related fields are encouraged to attend. Potential employers will be on hand from both public and private sectors. The Criminal Justice Career Fair is from 3 to 6:30 p.m. March 25 in the Hall of Governors at Governors State University, 1 University Parkway. While the Criminal Justice Career Fair is free and open to the public, employers who wish to participate must register and pay a registration fee.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY MEETS | Chicago

The Southeast Chicago Historical Society will conduct its annual membership meeting at 11 a.m. March 28 at the Calumet Park Field House at 9801 Avenue G. PAGEANT | Matteson

The Jassac Charitable Foundation Inc, and the Joliet Area/South Suburban Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will present 30 girls ranging in ages from 5 to 13 in the first Little Miss D.S.T. Pageant. The pageant takes place at 4 p.m. March 27 at Victory Apostolic Church, 2801 Matteson Ave. The event is a fundraiser with the proceeds supporting various recipients and scholarships for the Joliet area and south suburban communities. TEA PARTY | Merrillville

Alzheimer's & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, affiliated with Alzheimer's Foundation of America will hold an American Girl Tea Party fundraiser from 2 to 4 p.m. March 27, hosted by Spring Mill Health Campus,101 W. 87th Ave. Cost is $20, which includes lunch, tea and an entry ticket to win Lanie Holland, the 2010 American Girl Doll of the Year.
