Lakeshore Public Television & The Lakeshore, 89.1 FM, will broadcast The Times' Northwest Indiana Business and Industry Hall of Fame luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. March 10 from The Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza in Merrillville. The event will simulcast live online at www.TheLakeshoreFM.com. An encore presentation will air on Lakeshore Public Television at 10 a.m. March 14. The Times Media Company will honor five individuals who have made a substantial contribution to business and industry in the region. The event program includes remarks from Lt. Governor Becky Skillman regarding the Indiana economy.

MILITARY SUPPLY DRIVE | Gary
The Ivy Tech Gary campus business club will be collecting items for U.S. military through April 30. The collection is in cooperation with CAMP (Caring About Military Personnel). A collection box will be located at the Gary campus library at 1440 E. 35th Ave. CAMP is in need of: Ramen noodles, lip balm, sunscreen sticks, powdered drink mix, gum, letters and playing cards. Please donate in lots of 30, since CAMP ships to 30 addresses every month and tries very diligently to keep the boxes equal. It takes 4-6 weeks for a box to reach overseas; expiration dates must be watched closely.

Bloom Trail theater students will stage Disney¹s "Alice in Wonderland Jr." at 7 p.m. March 18 and March 19 and at noon, 3 and 7 p.m. March 20 in Neubauer Auditorium at Bloom Trail, Sauk Trail and Cottage Grove Avenue.
For the March 20, performances, Bloom Trail is hosting Unbirthday Parties to be held one hour before each of the three Saturday shows. Ticket prices for the Unbirthday Party and the play are $10 and include a light meal, a photo with the character Alice, and preferred seating during the performance. St. John Lutheran School, 18100 Wentworth Ave., is hosting a benefit for a preschooler who was diagnosed with Stage IV embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of abdominal cancer. She has been cancer-free since January. Event is from 5 to 8 p.m. March 20 in the school gym. Minimum donation is $20 per person and children 10 and under minimum donation is $10. LACARE Art League will meet at 1 p.m. March 22 at the Howard Branch Library, 7047 Grand Ave. The guest demonstrator will be portrait artist and teacher Tom Cushing. He has worked in slide/film, layout, drawing, inking, opaquing, animation, typesetting, cartography, set design, lettering, cartooning and photography. RHYTHM 'N HUES | Munster
Educators can register students in first and second grade for Rhythm 'n Hues, a program of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra that will be held at 9:30 a.m. and noon April 21 and April 22 at The Center for Visual & Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road. Students learn rhythms and sounds of percussion instruments and receive the opportunity to join an art instructor in an art class through the collaboration between the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra and South Shore Arts. Children will be made aware of the sounds and rhythms that surround them. Rhythm will be learned through word phrases and then the children will have an opportunity to play them on wood, metal, skin and melody percussion instruments. The art class consists of a music-related art activity for the children to enjoy. Cost is $7 per child and the registration deadline is March 24.
