Advocate South Suburban Hospital to host heart health fair

HAZEL CREST | Advocate South Suburban Hospital, 17800 S. Kedzie Ave., will host "An Affair for the Heart," a community event from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 25.

Free blood pressure, glucose, A1c testing, cholesterol lipid profile and body fat analysis will be available. There will also be educational booths on diabetes, heart health eating, stroke awareness and medication safety, among others.

"The risk of cardiovascular disease can be significantly reduced by making the proper lifestyle changes to prevent and control the disease," said Dr. Ajay Parikh, M.D., a cardiologist on the medical staff at Advocate South Suburban Hospital. "We hope that this event provides the community with some of the tools and education to keep their hearts healthy."
