Women's Association of Northwest Indiana Symphony Society will host a Musical Menu Midst Dining & Candlelight from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road. The Holy Name Society of St. Thomas More Catholic Church is hosting a Lenten fish fry
and raffle from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today at the St. Thomas More Social Center, 8435 Calumet Ave. Dinner includes North Atlantic cod with shrimp, french fries, cole slaw, pickled beets, bread, butter, coffee, milk, soft drinks and beer and wine available. ROCK FOR RELIEF | Lansing
Rock for Relief, a concert and craft sale to aid the people of Haiti, will begin at 6 tonight at J.J. Kelley's, 2455 Bernice Road. Tickets are $10 at the door. Performances by Lynxwail, Holas, Nomad Planets, Joshua McCormack & The Sin Divine, Midstates & The Choir of Ghosts and Steve Munoz are planned. There will also be a wide variety of hand-crafted items from local artists and crafters for sale. All proceeds from the event will be matched by The University of Chicago Medical Center and donated to the relief efforts in Haiti.

To combat cabin fever the Chicago Park District-Area 6 will host a winter wonderland for kids from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 27 at Jesse Owens Park, 88th Street and Clyde Avenue. Polonica Pilgrimage Society will host a Polonia bus trip to Chicago on March 10. A luxury coach will depart promptly at 8:45 a.m. from Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, 2949 Willowcreek Road in Portage, and will also pick up passengers at 9:15 a.m. from All Saints Catholic Church, 570 Sibley St., in Hammond. Return times will be approximately 5 p.m. in Hammond and 5:30 p.m. in Portage. Featured will be tours of St. Michael Church in Old Town and Queen of All Saints Basilica, lunch at the Red Apple Restaurant and shopping at Gene’s Sausage Shop & Delicatessen. St. John Bosco Youth Group offers an all-you-can-eat soup and salad supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays during Lent beginning March 3 and continuing through March at the parish hall, 7111 Columbia Ave. Menu consists of soup, salad, bread and butter, crackers, dessert and beverage.
