Tree lighting ceremony
There’s no place like home for the holidays, so join your friends and neighbors for this annual tradition. The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall and will feature a marimba band, holiday choir, and live reindeer. Then, Santa Claus himself will lead everyone up Wentworth Avenue to Memorial Park for more music (including a complete holiday concert by the T.F. North Band.), sleigh rides drawn by Clydesdale horses and fireworks plus, kids can visit with Santa.

Letters to Santa
Kids, write your letter to Santa Claus and he will write you back. Be sure to include your full name and address and place it in an envelope. Drop off your letter by Dec. 7 at either the Memorial Park Fieldhouse, 612 Wentworth Ave., or the Sandridge Community Center, 600 Oglesby Ave., both in Calumet City. This is a free event. Visit with Santa
Kids, bring your holiday wish list and meet with Santa Claus himself. But remember, he knows if you’ve been naughty or nice.

Join us for story time and a snack with Mrs. Claus herself. We will also be coloring some pictures for Santa and singing Christmas carols. Drop in anytime during the event hours.
