Some people look forward to fall as much for the foliage as for football.

Local football fans are encouraged to come out and support the T.F. South Rebels at home tonight as they face the Crete-Monee Warriors. Sophomores play at 5 p.m. and the varsity game immediately follows. Sports passes are available for purchase in the T.F. South Athletic Office. The cost of the family pass is $50 (good for immediate family members only), $15 for student passes, and $25 for individual passes (everyone other than students). Contact (708) 585-2061 for more information.

The T.F. North freshman football team will play Bradley-Bourbonnais at 9 a.m. Saturday and the sophomore game will begin at 10:45 a.m. The Meteors play their first home game of the season on Sept. 6 against the Thornridge Falcons. T.F. North is hosting a Family Tailgating Night from 4 to 7 that night. Contact Laura Cook at lcook@tfd215.org and (708) 585-1125 for more information.

Current and future educators — including high school juniors, seniors, and their parents — are invited to attend the fourth annual Teachers for Tomorrow Conference on Sept. 21 at T.F. South. The conference, sponsored by Golden Apple, includes workshops on topics related to pedagogy, technology, teaching in high-need schools, and Golden Apple Scholarships. The cost of the conference, which includes lunch, is $30 for teachers and college students and $15 for high school students and parents. Interested individuals can register by visiting http://www.goldenapple.org/teachers-for-tomorrow-2013.
