CALUMET CITY | Thornton Fractional High School District 215 is looking to fill a vacancy on its seven-member School Board.

Interested individuals should submit a brief letter of interest that indicates why they want to be a member of the board. The deadline to submit the letter of interest is 4 p.m. Sept. 6. Letters may be submitted to the attention of District 215 Board President Richard Dust via postal mail at District 215 Administration Center, 1601 Wentworth Ave., Calumet City, IL 60409 or email at rdust@tfd215.org.

Candidates must be available to be interviewed at 5 p.m. Sept. 10. Current District 215 School Board members will conduct interviews with candidates and will appoint one person to fill the board vacancy. The appointed member will remain in the position until the next regular School Board election in April 2015.

This position is open to area residents who have resided in the district’s boundaries for at least one year. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years old or older, a registered voter, and a resident of the state of Illinois.
