Want to make a difference in your community? Then we need you.
District 215 is currently accepting letters of interest to fill one vacancy on its seven-member board of education. If you are interested in applying visit www.tfd215.org. The deadline to submit a letter of interest for the position is at 4 p.m. today.
In addition to the vacancy on our School Board, there are other ways for community members and parents to get involved in our schools including participating in our parent-teacher organizations, cheering on students at athletic and theater events, and volunteering. Research has proven that students perform better in school when their parents, families, and communities are actively engaged in their schools.
The T.F. South Parent Teacher Student Association will hold its first meeting of the 2013-2014 school year at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 in the Library Resource Center. To join please send your name, address, phone number, email address, your student(s) name and grade, and $5 to T.F. South PTSA Membership, Main Office 18500 Burnham Ave., Lansing, IL 60438.
As a way to express appreciation for its parents, T.F. North is hosting a Homecoming Throwback Jam from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 28. The event will feature a live DJ and tickets will be available for pickup at Parent Teacher Conference night on Sept. 26. Tickets for parents are free with the purchase of a student homecoming ticket.
