Our unseasonably cool summer has officially come to a swift end to the delight of parents and dismay of some students. School starts for all Thornton Fractional High School District 215 students on Tuesday.
It will be a full day of attendance for all students, with regular classes starting at 8:05 a.m. (upperclassmen enrolled in early bird classes start at 7:05 a.m.) and ending at 3:05 p.m. All students who ride the bus must be at their bus stop at least 45 minutes prior.
Thornton Fractional South students can visit www.postscript.praser.com and order the 2014 yearbook for $49. The fall parent/athlete/coaches meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. Monday. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the rules and regulations for T.F. South athletes and expectations of coaching staff.
Senior portraits will be taken at Thornton Fractional North in the auditorium lobby Monday through Thursday. Parents should contact Prestige Portraits at (630) 910-6800 if their student has not yet received an appointment. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will take their yearbook photos Nov. 18 to 19 during their English class periods.
All are welcome to the Family Tailgating Night at T.F. North from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 6 as the Meteors face the Thornridge Falcons in the first home game of the 2013-2014 season. There will be bounce houses, games, and a DJ at this free event, which is open to the families of T.F. North, Wentworth, Schrum, Burnham, and Lincoln students. Contact Laura Cook at email@example.com and (708) 585-1125 for more information.
