The Illinois General Assembly has moved the filing deadline to submit candidate positions from Dec. 24 to Dec. 26, according to an announcement from Thornton Fractional High School District 215.
Candidates will now have until 5 p.m. Dec. 26 to submit filing petitions. Nominating papers may be filed by the candidate in person, by mail, or by an authorized agent. Candidates' names will appear on the election ballot in the order in which their nominating papers were received by the board secretary.
There are four seats on the Thornton Fractional High School District's seven-member board to be filled at the April 9 School Board election. All four positions are for four-year terms which will expire in April 2017.
